- Are you a Permanent Resident "Green Card" Holder who has been married to a U.S. Citizen for 3 years and still currently in that marital union (Are you still married and living together?)
Steps to Apply: ALL FREE!
1. Apply online: www.citizenshipworks.org/portal/acrs (go to the LRCC in C102 for help). You will be connected with Asian Counseling and Referral Center (ACRS) once you complete the form. They will review it and answer any questions you have.
2. Attend a Citizenship Event - FREE Legal and application help! They can also help you apply for the low-income fee waiver. Events are usually held in the Fall, Winter, and Spring on a Saturday. BRING ALL OF YOUR DOCUMENTS AND BE PREPARED TO SPEND SEVERAL HOURS. Look for information on this blog for the next event, or check out: http://wanewamericans.org/events or call the HELPLINE in different languages 206-386-9090. Your local library may also have events.
2. Attend Citizenship classes in the community, such as at the library. They may be able to help you apply. Be aware that many of these classes are volunteer run, so #1 and #3 are better options.
3. If you can’t attend a Citizenship events and dont' want to apply online, you need to go to a BIA accredited Non-Profit or attorney. This goes for any immigration forms. Below are our favorites:
